Key responsibilities will include;
1) Producing reports to include an overview, detailed data on economic activities and major economic sectors, balance of payment data, national budget, monetary & fiscal policy and banking sector and its regulations. Also to include historical data for the prior 5 years, with projections for the following year.
2) Work closely with the International Banking Department in the execution of Strategic Initiatives and preparation of the Annual Budget & Business Plans of overseas operations by providing them with updated economic forecasts for all countries in which the Group has a presence.
3) As part of Group Strategy you will review the Groups' competitive position in the banking sector in the Middle East and North Africa Region and assist in the preparation of quantitative and qualitative information in order to assess strategic direction.
4) Closely follow developments in the energy markets and its implication on Qatar’s economy as well as closely following international economic developments and its implication for the economies of Qatar and the MENA Region as a whole.
Successful applicants must have;
1) A very strong background with demonstrable experience in economics and financial analysis at a leading financial institution.
2) Evidence of Economic reports to demonstrate your capabilities in report writing within local and International Economies.
3) University Degree in Economics, Finance at a Masters’ Level. MBA is a plus.
4) Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling.
5) Ability to gather and analyze economic data and present findings.
6) Ability to handle tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
7) Good adaptability to multinational environment, with wide exposure to various cultures and customs.
8) Thorough knowledge of the principles of economics, including econometrics and forecasting.
9) Thorough knowledge of micro and macro economic theory.
10) Superior knowledge of economic research and survey sampling techniques.
11) Thorough knowledge of economic indicators for national and local economic trends.
