PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Manager of Content and Editorial Services is responsible for developing content that supports business and corporate needs across collateral material, by-lined articles, Op Eds, white papers and speeches for global and European markets.
Responsibilities include developing platforms and themes that incorporate business objectives and industry trends to position State Street as a thought leader. This role cultivates internal experts and client contacts and collaborates well and regularly with content experts and content developers in the department as well as business units worldwide. All editorial material must support the State Street brand and strategic priorities set by senior executives.
The successful candidate possesses extensive experience in writing and editing experience in journalism, academia and/or corporate communications at the middle to senior management level. Prior experience of business and/or financial writing is essential. This person will mentor and manage freelance staff writers and need to collaborate closely with a core team based in Boston.
The Manager of Content Editorial Services monitors developments in the global economy and the world's financial industry and securities markets and works with senior management to keep editorial material fresh, topical and consistent.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Oversee the creation and fulfillment of published editorial by State Street senior management in Europe as well as other written and spoken works at the core of State Street's internal and external communications.
2) Coordinate the development and implementation for all promotional copy for vehicles such as advertising and marketing collateral
3) Establish and manage the schedule of bylined articles in Europe for the year in partnership with the Media Relations Team.
4) Manage internal and external writing resources related to the editorial services franchise.
5) Keep current with State Street's strategic lines of business and major trends in the global financial industry. Regularly introduce fresh data, examples and trend insights into all written materials.
6) Work in conjunction with other Global Marketing teams to ensure best output and to enhance overall internal client relationship.
7) Coordinate review of published State Street communications for message consistency and clarity and adherence of editorial style guide.
